But Mr. ''It's about middle-class people and it's not high tragedy.'' Mr. ''It seems to be typical of me,'' said Mr. Grosbard had described the work as ''atypical Woody Allen'' because ''the humor comes out of the characters and the situation,'' not the lines. Everybody thinks I am but I don't think so.'' ''Okay,'' he said pleasantly, explaining, ''I don't want to seem too reclusive. Would he not relent and provide some illumination of ''The Floating Light Bulb?'' Mr. Allen looked possibly ready to smile over remarks that could not be overheard.
